REPRISE WEIRDNESS !!
From the late Sixties to the mid Seventies, Reprise Records, based at Warner Bros. Records in Burbank, was without a doubt the coolest and weirdest major label in the world. Or in the universe for that matter.

Fathom if you can all four of these maniacs being on the same record label at the same time, a label started by Frank Sinatra, no less!

TINY TIM
FRANK ZAPPA
CAPTAIN BEEFHEART

Even more unbelievable; all four artists were also featured on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine.

Cloud 8 Music owner Bucks Burnett actually worked at Reprise Records in 1985. His store in Dolly Python always carries mint vintage pressings by these misfits.

It is simply an era that cannot be Reprised.

This is a picture of Bucks Burnett. Maybe you’ve heard of him. He owns Cloud 8 Music in Dolly Python.
Last November he went to England. He visited Andy Partridge and Jimmy Page in their homes. He tripped his brains out by the sea, as seen here. He also came back with a lot of great UK vintage pressings of vinyl records.

If you want him to have more great import records for you to buy at Cloud 8 in Dolly Python, he’s going to need more money. Because flying to England to hang with legends, scoring mushrooms, and finding great old LP pressings, is very very expensive.

Buy some records at his store. He wants to give your money to British Airways. Do you want the beautiful imports or not??

Killer QUEEN

In 1974 Cloud 8 Music owner Bucks Burnett snuck into a Queen sound check and met the entire band including Freddie.
40 years later in 2014 he went backstage as Brian May’s personal guest. In short, he is a lifelong Queen fanatic.
The Cloud 8 location in Dolly Python has literally every Queen album ever released on vinyl, with variations such as import, promo and bootleg copies. There is simply no other store in Dallas as Queen crazy as Cloud 8.
All LPs are in near mint condition. If you saw the band turn American Airlines Center upside down recently, Dolly Python is the only place where you will find a Queen collection suited for royalty. Get some killer Queen!

Did you know that Dallas is home to the world’s very first Eight Track Museum? It was opened by Bucks Burnett, who supplies Dolly Python with all it’s vintage LPs.
Python serves as the official gift shop to the Track Museum, and it’s amazing how well they sell. Currently in stock on Track are great cartridges by: BOWIE, VELVET UNDERGROUND, QUEEN, THE CLASH, THE BEATLES, ACDC, and of course, ELVIS.
All cartridges sold are guaranteed to break or malfunction within 30 days. If you buy a track that performs well, just bring it back for one that doesn’t!

First Editions

Led Zeppelin are in the news again with reissues of their first three albums. You can buy the reissues at Urban Outfitters, or get the real deal vintage first pressings of each at Cloud 8 Music in Dolly Python.

All Zeppelin LPs at Dolly are of original vintage in fantastic shape, and Bucks Burnett always makes sure that all their albums are in stock.

Just in also is their first and only Rolling Stone cover issue and story. Hard to believe they only made the cover once their entire career. But then again, they have always been in the business of defying all logic.

And we are always proud that in 2013 Robert Plant announced that the Zep albums were priced too high at Dolly. So we marked down his solo stuff.

NEW ADDITION!!!

New Venture at Dolly Python! Bucks Burnett, owner of the Cloud 8 Records shop within Dolly, is finally opening his vault of hundreds of classic high end promo rock posters, for sale at his new FLATCO Paper Gallery in Python.
The first batch features extremely rare posters of Mick Jagger, Psychic TV, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Bruce Springsteen. The Freddie King poster must be seen to be believed. Also framed is a Stevie Ray Vaughan poster promoting his Greatest Hits album.
Dozens of great rare music posters will be added to the store in the coming weeks!
Most of these posters were never sold to the public and have survived in very small quantity.
FLATCO Paper Gallery is the only store offering posters of this nature to the public in the DFW area. With FLATCO, it’s always polite to stare.
